- They are one of the most popular bands in the world. U2 formed on the mid 70's, when all the members of the band where still teen agers with a poor musical knowledge. Their first record that was an immediate hit was the Joshua Tree, cosidered by Rolling Stone as one of the best 500 records of all times ---
