The story follows Mitchie Torres, a girl who is hoping to become a professional singer. Mitchie wants to go to a music camp named "Camp Rock", but her family doesen't have enough money to pay for it, so Mitchie's mother arranges to cater food for the camp, thus allowing Mitchie to attend. Mitchie tries to conceal this from her friends at camp. Later, she meets a guy who will spend almost all the rest of the film looking for her because he has fallen in love with her voice, and, later, for her.
