My Neighbor Totoro or Tonari no Totoro in Japanese, is a 1988 anime film written and directed by one of the most important animators of all time, Hayao Miyazaki, who also directed another classic anime movies like Spirited Away or Kiki's Delivery Service, and and produced by Studio Ghibli. The film follows the two young daughters of a professor and their interactions with friendly wood spirits, the Totoros, who is said bring good luck and can only visit you when you're young, in postwar rural Japan. It's considered a must-watch film and has still a cultural impact nowadays.
